Run duct work through the attic then attach the stove vent to a roof cap.

Install the fan the filter and the light kit.
Caulk around the seams between the vent hood and the ceiling.
Be sure to extend the pipe up at least 2 to 3 above the roof to prevent snow buildup from causing problems.

You can buy the proper flashing to install it on a flat roof and a roof cap that has screen around it to prevent insects from entering.
The should cover the top of the vent flange.
Start in the attic and drill a hole through the roof in the desired vent location.
Cut the hole for the vent.
Leave the drill bit sticking through the roof so you can find the hole.
The holes are not just for the range hood but also drill one or two more holes for the electric wires too.
Screw the ductwork together.
Additionally consider cutting a larger hole beyond that of the vent hole so you have room to work on the vent and so you can see exactly what you re doing.
The lower part of the vent flange however will sit on top of the shingles.
Use roofing nails to nail the lower half of the flange in place at the corners.
Try to keep it close to the fan location.
Then flash it with the shingles that you removed prior on both sides and above the vent.
To vent a range hood through a wall or roof you have to open up a hole in the ceiling using a drill machine.
Install the vent and seal the underside of the vent flange with roofing grade sealant caulk.
Connect the vent hood using screws and anchors to ensure a good tight fit.
Be sure to keep this larger piece and use it as a template in the next step.
This will also help you run an electric cable from the range hood over to the power box.
Seal between the top of the vent flange and at the bottom of the roofing shingles as well.
