Go into your attic and find a spot at least 2 feet 0 61 m down from the peak of your roof.
If your roof peak runs parallel to the street put them on the backside where they ll be less prominent.
Set your circular saw at 1 8 inch 0 4 cm greater than the thickness of your roof s soffit when installing an intake vent.
Then cut out your desired location and screw the vent directly into the soffit.
The nail will either visibly stick out from the roof or raise shingles so you know where it is.
Place all the roof vents on the same side of the roof.
Use a hammer to pound a nail through to the roof.
A roofer will from the attic mark a spot near the ridge of the roof he may first use nails from the attic to mark preferred spots between two rafters.
Simply secure the vent into place with screws and your vent is complete.

Next lay the strip vent down on a flat wood surface such as a plywood sheet or long 2 x 4 and drill 1 8 in dia.
Screw holes through both flanges.
