If desired set the lines of the second roof to be slope defining except the roof line that will be coincident with the first roof or the wall.
How to merge gable roof with hip roof revit.
You need to create the bay window roof separately.
The first method works only for gable or shed roofs but not hip roofs.
Then use the join geometry tool to clean up the intersection of the 2 roofs.
The second works for all roof types.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 to generate the gable roof.
So you would use the opening tool pick the roof you want to cut and draw the shape you want removed from the roof.
Use join unjoin roof tool.
Draw geometry similar to below and select all but 3 top edges as shown.

This tool is located in the modify tab.
Whether you want a double gable roof with 6 pyramid shaped dormers or a simple gambrel roof the basics remain the same.
After you sketch walls and a roof for your design sketch another roof that you want to join to the original roof.
This is the easiest way to do it.
Note that you cannot add the second roof by editing the sketch of the first.
If you choose not to move the roof to a different level revit notifies you later if the roof.
I believe this tools are not design for this purpose.
Display a floor plan view or a reflected ceiling plan view.
Thus a hipped roof house has no gables or ot.
Select build roof roof plane from the menu.
Use it to extend the dormer roof to the main roof.
When object snaps are enabled the program will snap the roof planes baseline to that point automatically.
But i m not really sure if this is a best practice.
To create a dormer model required walls and additional roof.
Using shape editing tools.
If you try to add a roof on the lowest level a dialog prompts you to move it to a higher level.
For creating complex roof it might be easier if you create separate roof then use join roof tool to join them later.
There are 2 ways to extend the roof parallel to a ridge.
A hip roof is a type of roof where all sides slope downwards to the walls usually with a fairly gentle slope.
Revit roof slope can seem complicated at first glance but by learning a few critical features you can create any roof shape you desire.
Method 1 gable roof with offset ridge.
Creates a roof using the building footprint to define its boundaries.
Starting on the left hand side of the plan click and drag a baseline down along the outside surface of the wall s framing layer.
Click architecture tabbuild panelroof drop down roof by footprint.
