How to patch woodpecker holes in siding.
Epoxy putty is a commonly recommended wood filler for use in repairing woodpecker damage.
We recommend starting with plugging up the holes in siding holes roof shingles and trees.
Feather the paint out for a seamless finish.
Allow at least 1 hour of drying time.
Use a putty knife to force the filler inside the hole making sure to fill in the hole and to completely cover the opening.
Insert the shim edgewise into the hole.
Scrape away any excess with the putty knife when you re done and allow it to air dry.
Use the nail to pull it flush against the interior of the siding.
Use the putty knife to scrape away the excess then.
Sand down any excess wood filler and paint the patch.
Use this wood filler around the edges of both the patch and hole and fit the patch into place.
We want the patch to be slightly smaller than the hole cut in the siding so that we can fit it in place.
Smear a generous layer of the epoxy putty over the holes.

Use a putty knife to apply the putty liberally across the holes so it sinks in.
Fill the siding holes with wood filler.
