The patch should be adhered from the centre over the hole outwards with a firm hard roller.
How to repair flat leaky roof.
A small patch can act as a permanent epdm roof repair for leaks and cracks.
When the membrane is completely dry apply the appropriate roof repair material such as roof cement tar or peel and stick patch.
Sometimes doing that is difficult.
In most cases the leak is directly below the damaged spot and the damage to the roofing felt is easy to see.
If you take that step be sure to cover the nail heads with tar roof sealant or peel and stick flashing patch.
Apply roofing cement peel back the layers of the membrane you cut and apply roofing cement to the leak and to the entire section of the roof underneath the membranes you cut away.
Press the membrane flaps to the cement to reseal the cut.
For most small punctures you can repair your roof simply by forcing sealant into them.
Apply an epdm primer and when touch dry add self adhesive rubber tape 3 around malleable flashing covering the hole.
Cut around the damaged area until the membrane rests flat.
Some roofers also suggest using 6d roofing nails to secure the blister flaps.
This will plug it and will also provide an adhesive for the flaps of the membrane to stick to.
If there s still water pooled in the leak area mop it up or soak.
Make sure to remove all silicone residues.
Using a utility knife make a shallow cut until you can remove material around the spot without damaging the layers underneath it.
