How To Repair Plastic Siding

Use a table saw or circular saw to cut a patch from a good piece of vinyl.

Nail in the center of the nailing slot and leave about 1 32 in. Cut piece of faded siding from an inconspicuous spot to replace the damaged section. The patch should be larger than the piece you removed. It ll better match the house.

Use zip tool to. Always work from end to end when removing a panel. Then lock the siding back into place. Pull downward on the tool to unhook the siding and slide the tool toward the opposite end to continue unzipping.

Run a bead of adhesive caulk around the back of the patch and set the patch in place top image. Don t nail the heads tightly or the siding will buckle when it warms up. Use tin snips to cut out the damaged area image 1. Unzip the panel from one end.

Pull siding away from house and cut through the bottom edge with aviation snips. To unzip the damaged panel insert the zip tool under the lip of the vinyl until it catches on the lip. With the new piece nailed use the zip tool to lock the upper piece down over it. Snip the bottom edges of the vinyl with vinyl snips.

Remove the vinyl siding nails holding the damaged siding in place.
