It bends around the edge of the roof channeling any moisture that penetrates the shingles away from the roof decking.
How to replace drip edge on flat roof.
Make sure the outer edge extends over the gutter.
And apply a uniform layer into the nailed seams at each area with a plastic putty knife.
Slide the flat bar under starter course and pry out the nails.
Apply a continuous bead of cement along the top of the drip edge then press down on the shingle.
